The Research Centre for Social Ecology and Climate Change conducts national and international research on social ecology, sustainability and the social impacts of climate change. The Centre coordinates and presents research, thematic lecture series and conferences on these topics within the framework of the Centre for Social Sciences. It aims to establish a network of higher education partner institutions; to participate in the development of higher education curricula and courses; to plan and carry out joint research with universities and research institutes in Hungary and abroad.

The Centre aims to become one of the leading research institutes on this topic in Hungary and to play a coordinating role between research institutes, research groups and universities. Through all these activities, the Centre seeks to ensure that inevitable social changes due to environmental degradation occur with as little social loss as possible in Hungary.
